They keep saying "mark of the beast". What is the beast? From what I recall, it's heavily associated with some kind of global authoritarian theocratic government that mandates membership into an idol worshipping cult. Looking around, I don't see anything like that today, so there is no beast to mark you with!
That’s heavily associated in extra-Biblical “Christian” fiction, like the Left Behind series… there are three beasts mention in Revelation, the dragon, the sea beast, and the land beast. They’re interpreted as the anti-Trinity, Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet.
Wouldn’t worry about it too much… in the 80s I got an email assuring me I was fifth in line to be the antichrist, followed by a bunch of signs and proofs from (and, it turned out, hallucinated with) the Bible.
The other four are all now dead, so you’re behind me still.
